Superboy Costumes « Thread Started on Jun 9, 2008, 8:43pm »
I've long thought Superboy's first costume was one of the best Superhero costumes (for a teen anyway) I'd ever seen, and even after he added the hinky jacket I was still enjoying it. It was represented a few times in an adult version, specifically the Sins of Youth story, and I liked it quite a bit there, too.
My question is what versions were your favorites, or was his final t-shirt and jeans your favorite?

I very much liked his 2nd Costume with the red and blue and no black. I think the first one lost me alittle with the belts that buckled nothing down and that stupid faded hair cut. Though I did like the first one, I think the 2nd one trumps it in style.
When he was grown up in Sins of Youth I liked the costume quite a bit, even with the cape.
I don't think the t-shirt is very superhero like. I dig it as a casual way to dress as he's hanging around with the Titans in their tower, or as a less obvious 'costume' to hide under his clothes as there are S t-shirts everywhere in DC. But as a real adventurer costume...I'm not really with it.

Yeah, the S t-shirt and blue jeans was far too casual for my liking as an adventurer costume. I preferred the 2nd costume myself. But it all comes down to whichever style Erik wants to stick with in the DCA continuity.

I toss between both the casual one and his 2nd Costume. I'll use the more casual one for when he's at school and can't hang out all day with a costume under his clothes. And it doesn't look suspicious that he's just wearing an 'S' t-shirt. But when he's in full Superboy mode then he's in the costume. So I guess it depends on the application and the moment I need him.

My favorite was always the original. I'll admit, it could've used a few tweaks, but I liked it.
I hated the second costume unless Todd Nauck was drawing it. I don't know what it was, but he made it look so much better than the artist in Superboy's own book could.
The T-shirt and jeans look I wasn't really a fan of. Like Erik said, I could see it for everyday wear, but it just doesn't cut it as a full costume.
