You may possibly see this in SCU #2
In a Realm Outside Our Own
Alisand’r was never one to believe in beings that were greater than her. God’s, Goddess’s, demons and the Devil were all part of a giant superstition created by those who were too lazy to explore their existence, fight to better themselves and understand their universe. As Alisand’r laid eyes on Hell she realized she might have made her judgments in haste, because there it was, the solidification of despair, fear, hopelessness, and death.
She was just one person amongst the 3,600 strong gathered on the outer edges of this strange solar system that seemed oddly surrounded in an eternal darkness, eerily devoid of all life, ready to launch an all out assault on the home of a God that even the Devil prayed to. They were the strongest force ever assembled in this universe or the next.
Apokolips hovered before them in the middle of an expansive black nothingness that did little to diminish the imposing dull gray world as multiple fire pits spew forth giant orange flames that Alisand’r swore she felt warming her golden cheeks, even from countless millions of miles away.
It was a sight that should unnerve even the most heroic of souls and overwhelm them with feelings that could get them killed. However, Alisand’r, like the rest of the 3,600 gathered, were different. They were Green Lanterns and they knew no fear.
That didn’t stop her subconscious from bringing to surface all the stories she was told as a child about the afterlife, and how the damned ended up there for their evil deeds. But, as she was confronted with reality Alisand’r felt compelled to offer up a prayer to her own Tamaranean Goddess, X’Hal, and as the golden armored Parademons cut through their forces like like the teeth of a chain saw ravaging a tiny maple sapling Alisand’r almost wished she followed through on her instinct.
Mere minutes passed but it was immediately clear their crusade was damned from inception. Thousands of Green Lanterns now laid dead or dying waiting for the sting of a yellow blade to mercilessly put them out of their misery.
Alisand’r was now forced to crawl on the rocky ground amongst the dead. Her ring hand was shattered, and the ring was powerless and all together useless on the crippled broken finger. Her legs were numb, probably from the knife that was buried in her back that severed her spinal column, and she dragged them behind her as she mustered all of her strength into her one arm that pulled her closer to a towering figure dressed entirely in gold.
She fought to ignore the stench of death and blood in the air, the cries of the helpless and defeated that writhed on the ground or tied on to the wooden crucifixes; their costume in tatters as their exposed flesh rotted in the overwhelming heat. Alisand’r could barely hear her own thoughts over the noise, barely focus on her plan that she knew would fail miserably, but she was a Green Lantern and she would follow her orders to the bitter end.
* Through all of the cacophony one voice cut cleanly. ‘Your report, Virman.’ ordered Darkseid as he prominently stood amongst a sea of dead Green Lanterns, his arms pinned behind his back as he surveyed the scene around him. He felt the pride of victory swell in him, as if there was any doubt for another way this could have unfolded.
“We’ve decimated a full two-thirds of the lanterns’ ranks, dread Darkseid. Their remaining forces have entrenched themselves beyond the central pit.” Virman reported as he wiped clean a golden sword that he pulled from the corps of a Green Lantern. “As soon as the newest Parademon hatchlings shed their birth-sacs, we’ll have at them again.” Virman continued as Darkseid took notice to a body moving towards him, crawling like a worm.
“Though I’m loath to admit it, Desaad was right. Their rings are virtually powerless against a single narrow band of the visible spectrum. No doubt the survivors are hastily plotting a counter-measure.”
Darkseid picked the determined woman up by her neck, his mammoth hands nearly swallowed her collarbones, and was impressed by the unbridled defiance in the attractive golden woman’s pale green eyes as he brought her face-to-face.
Alisand’r gathered together all of her bile and saliva, and from the depths of her throat she let fly her final assault.
Pttoo!
‘It would be a wasted effort.’ His thick gray tongue snaked out of his mouth, and licked at the spittle that ran down his rocky cheek as he hungrily stared down on the wench with his crimson eyes. ‘The Lanterns are dead.’ KRIK! With a slight twist of his wrist the Alisandr’s neck snapped like a twig, ‘They simply haven’t realized it, yet.’ And with a casual swing of his mighty arms he tossed the corpse away like garbage without wasting an extra thought.
